Who Sky Resources is

Sky Resources was registered in 1991, making it one of the oldest contract cosmetic makers in Malaysia. Its detached plant sits in the Bukit Tengah industrial estate near Bukit Mertajam, Penang. NPRA lists 519 active products, including 150 skincare products for 37 client brands.

What it is like to start a brand here

Client feedback is excellent (4.8 stars from 68 Google reviews), and the company is active in exports. It does not publish small-batch terms.

The halal question

Sky’s website says all of its products are halal-certified. The JAKIM directory lists 24. The halal certificate is genuine, but if halal matters to your brand, ask for the JAKIM listing of your specific product.

What the registry shows

NPRA lists 519 active products under Sky Resources, including 150 skincare products for 37 client brands. About 46% of that skincare is for multinational, pharmacy, clinic or large-retail clients. Trade data shows 296 export shipments between June 2025 and May 2026, though not split by product.

Its detached plant in the Bukit Tengah industrial estate measures about 1,640 m² of roof, and Street View (August 2024) shows the Sky Resources name on the building and gate.

Claims to check

The website says all products are halal-certified; JAKIM lists 24. It also calls a product “Malaysia’s No.1 innovation” and the company a “leading halal OEM” without an independent source. ISO 9001 and HACCP appear only in third-party directories, not on Sky’s own site. ECOCERT on the site refers to ingredients, not the factory.

Questions to ask before you sign

  • Which of my products would be halal-listed, and under whose certificate?
  • What is your MOQ for a new brand’s first order?
  • Can your regional offices help with export registration?
  • What is the lead time from approved sample to delivery?

Our verdict

An experienced, well-liked factory — good for brands with some volume and export plans. Check halal status product by product.
